| Watch Vacheron Constantin Metiers Dart Marco Polo (ð.47070/000J-9086) is made in honor of Italian merchant and great traveler Marco Polo . About his travels and inventions can read in the book called “Diversity of the World”. Despite the fact that there are rumors about the unreliability of the facts written in the book, it is still a very useful resource for writing textbooks on geography and history of different countries. For his life Polo made 3 great and interesting travels. The firs went through Pamir, Mesopotamia and Kashgaria and was called “Path to Chinese”. Second was called “Life in Chinese” and the first city which visited Marco Polo in 1275 was Shachzha (now it is known as Dunhuang). Then in the same travel he visited residence of Hubilaia (now known as Gangsu), where he was welcomed warm by native khan and even didn't want to let him go back to Venice. Here Polo spent three years as a governor of Yanchzhou town. And also helped to develop the army and taught how to build catapults, which were necessary for siege of the fortress. He visited many places in Chinese, but the most important that he got the describing of the place, and stories about first paper money, described crafts in Chinese, traditions, holidays and another interesting facts. It helped modern scientists to gather all history of Chinese. Polo spent 15 years in this wonderful country. And his last third trip was to come back to Venice, during which he visited Iran, on Sumatre and in Ceylon. And he came back to mother land in 1295. Information about life of Marco Polo after going back to Venice was lost, but some historic say that he participated in war with Genua, where in 1298 was captured and stayed there till 1299. After capturing he went to Venice again, married there and grew up three beautiful and wise daughters. In 1324 Polo got ill and died and was buried in Saint Laurent church, in which he prayed very often for his natives. Home in which he lived with his family didn't keep till nowadays, it burnt in 1596 together with thing which he brought from Chinese.
